My passion for jewelry making
has been a secret enjoyed by my friends and family for over fifteen
years. I have been encouraged by their positive reactions to share
my creations with the rest of the world. I am greatly inspired
by the green movement as well as the increasing need for social and
economic responsibility. I strive to do the right thing as I builds
my credibility for sustainability through my line, Aria Handmade.
In my business I have to make choices: I can use plastic materials to solve the problem, but I refuse. I prefer to find something more sustainable. I work with indigenous people to learn their culture and I ask them how we can best utilize their skills. I personally scout cultures to identify materials and the people behind them. I get to meet them and get to know them. They become my friends and together we utilize our talents to create beautiful jewelry together. We can help them support themselves in making an honorable and legal living in their native country. Lovely. Fashionable. Sustainable. That's Aria Handmade. |
