Malene ("inal")
Davis was raised in a creative family full of musicians, artists and
writers. Although she began her
working career in a traditional professional sector, in the lifelong
battle between the creative verses the traditional, the arts fully won
out. Now Malene works for her jewelry design
business - named after her and her sister, Mari (it's their names
backwards) - full time, and sells to boutiques and galleries across the country.
Every season, Malene comes up with innovative, fashion-forward ways to keep beaded jewelry unique and bold. Her original large-bead woven design continues to be her most popular necklace style, and many customers say most of their monochromatically jewelry looks "yummy," which naturally formed the tagline, "forevermore creating delicious designs." While voluminous, the jewelry is lightweight for the wearer, and largely incorporates upcycled, recycled and eco-friendly components in the majority of their designs, which is very important to Malene. She strongly believes that independent handmade design can easily be sustainable and stylish, and plans to continue to create designs that may be worn by women of all ages, shapes and sizes through her eponymous line. |
