I started out wanting to
be a gemcutter, to transform the rough beauty of mother nature into
faceted, sparkling jewels. An unusual ambition for a 12- year old.
Always, I have been enamored with the gifts of the earth. Cowskull, insect wing, robin's egg, sand dollar. I knew a had the artist's soul for a long, frustrated time. Ultimately, thanks to some guidance from good ol' mom, I found my voice in jewelry design. Materials inspire me: turquoise, bone, copper. Themes inspire me: freedom, flight, individuality, the beauty of imperfection in nature. You inspire me: Beautiful, individual, real. |
