Growing up, I was always
surrounded by crafts, painting, sewing, crocheting,
ceramics
woodworking. I remember being in love with the idea that
someone had made an object with their own two hands. The older I
got, the more interested I was in the creative aspect of it all. I
wanted to to have creativity in my future life. It was in High
school when I realized that I could actually do this and make a
career out of it. I went to Indiana State University and graduated
with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. After college, I was working as an Interior Designer creating spaces for our clients. It was exciting but it wasnt until one Christmas when I received my very own sewing machine that I finally realized I had been missing the aspect of really making something...with my own two hands. I used my machine one special year to create my first appliqued gift. Little did I know at the time, the gift would turn into orders and one day it would become a business. To this day, I still use the same sewing machine I received that Christmas many years ago. |
