I grew up in a family passionate about baking. As a little girl I would help my grandmother in the kitchen, who was always baking cakes. I have baked as a hobby and stress relieving activity over the past twelve years, mainly as a procrastinating distraction from school work. My ultimate goal is to be a college professor, but to also have a small bakery café.

I first studied music in college. I then became a typical student at the age of not knowing what to do in life. I hopped around majors and I then went on to study geography. I had no clue of what I would do with geography at the time, but I didn’t care. I believe in studying what you love, not learning to love what you study. I continued to graduate school, graduating with a couple of geography degrees. I am employed as a geographer by day, doing Geographic Information Systems (I make maps), teaching Geography part-time at a local college, and completing my doctoral degree.

Now I also moonlight as a baker. I love to experiment with new recipes, combing flavors and keeping it interesting. I feel that muffins are an easy way to combine lots of good stuff into a bite. With the help and support of my loving husband, family, and friends, I decided to go into business, and along came Sweet Muffin Muffin. Yes, the name is a bit funny, but I like funny.
